Deuce Electric Concept Car Rendered in a Surfer’s Way

When people say Deuce, they’re usually referring to Detroit or the number 2, so we were a little surprised to see that term pop up on a concept car for San Francisco surfers. Nevertheless, we like this sharp EV, which is designed with gullwing doors and a hatchback for the ultimate mix of style and utility.

The Deuce features unique cargo options such as front trunk space under the hood a la Porsche, a surfboard rack up top, and space inside the rear hatch for stowing your adventure gear. Bright Automotive to Unveil Plug-in Hybrid in Spring

Bright Automotive, which is a spin-off of think-tank Rocky Mountain Institute, will unveil its 100-mile-per-gallon car in May at the 24th Electric Vehicle Symposium in Stavanger, Norway, with a likely introduction to the U.S. market earlier than that.

The yet-to-be-named vehicle is being developed to make the most of the battery technology by using light materials, aerodynamic design and low-rolling resistance of tires, said John Waters, president and chief executive of Bright Automotive, in an interview. That will make for a cost-competitive hybrid car, he said.
